I wonder if the environmentalists appreciate the fact that a building surveyor does take into account the environmental hazards when a survey is carried out. No survey is done in isolation and it is never limited to just the bricks and cement of a building. A surveyor’s job is only complete when he looks at a property within the context of its surrounding environment. This is one of the reasons why a surveyor must be familiar with the rules and regulations laid out by the government. Most countries are making an effort to go green and are aware of global warming. They are trying to do everything possible to ensure that the construction industry sticks to the norms put in place for safeguarding the environment. For instance, if more people become aware of the need to conserve energy, appropriate measures would be taken even as a building is purchased. A building surveyor would be able to see that these measures are according to the law of the land.
